La Corporaci\u00f3n de Desarrollo Econ\u00f3mico de Weslaco anunci\u00f3 el jueves que Southern Roots Market abrir\u00e1 su cuarto establecimiento en el Valle del R\u00edo Grande en el interior del antiguo edificio del Guaranty State Bank, situado en la esquina de la Quinta Calle con Texas Boulevard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Actualmente, la empresa cuenta con establecimientos en Mission, Pharr y McAllen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El local, situado en el centro de Weslaco, contar\u00e1 con una cafeter\u00eda especializada, una cocina completa, un mercado de flores y una boutique, al tiempo que crear\u00e1 un espacio de encuentro para la comunidad dise\u00f1ado para fomentar la actividad continua en el centro de la ciudad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El edificio cuenta con m\u00e1s de un siglo de historia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El Guaranty State Bank abri\u00f3 sus puertas all\u00ed el 15 de julio de 1920. El banco fue fundado por Ed C. Couch, uno de los primeros promotores inmobiliarios de Weslaco. Posteriormente, el edificio pas\u00f3 a albergar el First National Bank y sigue siendo uno de los lugares emblem\u00e1ticos m\u00e1s antiguos de Weslaco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
