{"id":21244,"date":"2026-07-22T17:55:52","date_gmt":"2026-07-22T22:55:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rgvbusinessjournal.com\/news\/22\/07\/2026\/las-lluvias-de-julio-han-aumentado-el-caudal-del-rio-grande-pero-la-region-aun-no-esta-fuera-de-peligro\/"},"modified":"2026-07-22T17:55:52","modified_gmt":"2026-07-22T22:55:52","slug":"las-lluvias-de-julio-han-aumentado-el-caudal-del-rio-grande-pero-la-region-aun-no-esta-fuera-de-peligro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rgvbusinessjournal.com\/es\/news\/22\/07\/2026\/las-lluvias-de-julio-han-aumentado-el-caudal-del-rio-grande-pero-la-region-aun-no-esta-fuera-de-peligro\/","title":{"rendered":"Las lluvias de julio han aumentado el caudal del R\u00edo Grande, pero la regi\u00f3n a\u00fan no est\u00e1 fuera de peligro"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Las recientes lluvias de julio han supuesto un impulso muy necesario para el R\u00edo Grande, pero los dos embalses que almacenan gran parte del agua del r\u00edo siguen estando a menos de la mitad de su capacidad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Los embalses de Amistad y Falcon, que abastecen de agua a comunidades, explotaciones agr\u00edcolas y empresas de todo el Valle del R\u00edo Grande y a lo largo de la frontera entre Estados Unidos y M\u00e9xico, han recibido m\u00e1s de 232 000 acre-pies de agua durante la \u00faltima semana.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Esa cantidad de agua bastar\u00eda para llenar unas 115 000 piscinas ol\u00edmpicas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A pesar de ese aumento, el embalse de Amistad est\u00e1 lleno en torno al 42 % y el de Falcon, en torno al 37 %, lo que pone de manifiesto la gran cantidad de agua que la regi\u00f3n sigue necesitando tras a\u00f1os de sequ\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El aumento se produjo despu\u00e9s de que, el 14 de julio, las aguas de escorrent\u00eda provocadas por las fuertes lluvias ca\u00eddas en el oeste de Texas comenzaran a llegar al embalse de Amistad. Esas aguas llegaron al embalse de Falcon el 18 de julio, lo que provoc\u00f3 que los niveles de agua de ambos embalses subieran r\u00e1pidamente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Amistad registr\u00f3 el mayor incremento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Entre el 13 y el 22 de julio, el nivel del embalse subi\u00f3 7,44 pies y se registraron casi 149 000 acre-pies de agua, una vez tenidas en cuenta las descargas aguas abajo. El mayor aumento en un solo d\u00eda se produjo el 19 de julio, cuando entraron en el embalse casi 48 000 acre-pies de agua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A fecha de 22 de julio, el embalse de Amistad almacenaba unos 758 600 acre-pies de agua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El embalse de Falcon tambi\u00e9n se benefici\u00f3 de las aportaciones de agua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Entre el 18 y el 22 de julio, el embalse subi\u00f3 2,88 pies y acumul\u00f3 m\u00e1s de 83 000 acre-pies de agua, una vez tenidas en cuenta las descargas aguas arriba. Esa cifra no incluye el agua descargada desde la propia presa de Falcon. El mayor aumento diario del embalse se produjo el 21 de julio, cuando el volumen almacenado aument\u00f3 en casi 50 000 acre-pies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A fecha de 22 de julio, el embalse de Falcon almacenaba unos 580 400 acre-pies de agua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En virtud del Tratado del Agua de 1944, la Comisi\u00f3n Internacional de L\u00edmites y Aguas reparte el agua almacenada en los embalses entre Estados Unidos y M\u00e9xico en funci\u00f3n del origen de las precipitaciones. Estados Unidos recibe la totalidad de los caudales de siete afluentes medidos de Texas, un tercio de los caudales de seis afluentes medidos de M\u00e9xico y la mitad de los caudales de los afluentes
