Dra. Gina Cano-Monreal, vicerrectora del campus de Harlingen del TSTC, discussed the college’s approach in an interview on the Rio Grande Valley Business Journal podcast with host Naxiely Lopez-Puente. Cano-Monreal, who has spent 18 years at TSTC, said the college was created to respond directly to shifting local labor needs \u2014 and that mandate sometimes means retiring programs that no longer serve the region.<\/p>

El TSTC se fund\u00f3 en 1965 como parte del Sistema Texas A&M, primero con el nombre de Instituto T\u00e9cnico Estatal de Texas, antes de pasar a llamarse Escuela T\u00e9cnica Estatal de Texas.
