A new cold-storage facility is planned in Pharr’s industrial area near the Pharr–Reynosa International Bridge, one of the nation’s leading ports of entry for fresh produce.
The $9.5 million project, listed as Lakeway II Phase I, calls for 56,000 square feet of refrigerated storage, warehouse space, and offices.
The development would support operations along a corridor that handles a significant share of U.S. fruit and vegetable imports, where demand for temperature-controlled space has grown alongside increased cross-border shipments.
The filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation lists Lakeway Foods LLC as the project owner and Pharr-based designer Humberto De Los Santos as the design firm.
