Home sales rebound slightly in October in McAllen, Brownsville metros

Nearly an entire block of single-family homes inside the North McAllen subdivision of Oxford Homes was for sale on a Thursday afternoon, with several hosting tours. The subdivision sits near an elementary school and a brand-new park, Camp McAllen, which features a lake and hiking trails. 

The new construction homes, mainly three-bedroom, were priced between $306,000 and $335,000. A four-bedroom, two-bath house on a corner lot was $364,000. 

For a 1,668-square-foot, three-bedroom house with two bathrooms and one partial bath, built in 2024, the developer wanted $306,000 and offered $5,000 in concessions towards the potential buyer’s closing costs

That’s because the Rio Grande Valley is in a buyer’s market, as opposed to a seller’s market, which means there are more homes available to purchase than individuals looking to buy.
