McAllen Police Chief Victor Rodriguez confirmed the shooting death of Eddy Betancourt early Sunday morning. He indicated that more details would be disclosed soon.

Mission businessman and Hidalgo County Appraisal District Board of Directors member Eddy Betancourt was shot to death in McAllen on Saturday, according to Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez.
Details about the death remained limited Saturday night.
