The Alton Economic Development Corp. announced in late September that Dunn Development Co., a commercial real estate firm, has executed a lease with Starbucks Corp. for a site in Alton, according to a social media post from the organization.
The exact location has not been disclosed. The nearest existing Starbucks location is in Mission.
It’s a unique decision for the U.S. coffee retailer, which operates corporate stores nationwide and has international franchise partners. Starbucks announced in late September that it plans to close 250 underperforming stores.
A Dunn Development Corp., registered with the Texas Secretary of State in 1978 by Jack Dunn, currently shows an inactive status and ended franchise tax standing, and it could not be confirmed whether it is the same entity involved in the Alton lease.
