The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley’s APEX Accelerator is partnering with the Pharr Economic Development Corp. and the U.S. Small Business Administration to host a free workshop Thursday aimed at helping Rio Grande Valley businesses pursue government contracts.
The “Doing Business With the Government” workshop will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Pharr Global Business Hub, 301 S. Cage Blvd. in Pharr.
The session will introduce business owners to the federal, state and local government contracting process, including how to identify agencies that purchase their products or services and find contracting and subcontracting opportunities.
Participants will learn how to classify their businesses using North American Industry Classification System codes, commonly known as NAICS codes, and Small Business Administration size standards.
