Alamo city leaders touted economic development and infrastructure investment gains over the past year during their first ‘State of the City’ event on Thursday night.
The city touted a total of $60 million invested over the past year, up from $40 million in 2024.
“Drainage improvements are helping reduce flood risk across our neighborhoods,” Alamo City Commissioner Roel “Leon” Moreno Jr. said in a pre-recorded video. “You asked for better sewer service, and we delivered. We brought long-overdue upgrades that are improving the quality of life.”
The newest project under construction is an $8 million public safety center to be built on Professional Drive, which sits just south of Expressway 83 and west of Tower Road in Alamo. The project is funded with $2.45 million in federal funds, with the city’s general fund expected to cover the remaining costs.
