McALLEN, Texas — A new cold-storage facility is planned along Military Highway in McAllen, a corridor that hosts major produce importers and sits near the region’s international ports of entry.
The $8 million project, listed as Mega Produce Cold Storage Warehouse in state filings, includes 45,496 square feet of space at 5100 Military Highway.
Plans call for a two-story office area totaling 14,713 square feet and a 30,783-square-foot refrigerated warehouse.
The site is positioned within McAllen’s cold-chain and logistics zone, where companies move high volumes of fruits and vegetables through nearby crossings with Mexico.
