Bubba’s 33, the sports-themed restaurant chain owned by Texas Roadhouse Holdings, is planning to open its first location in Weslaco, according to newly filed state construction records.

Founded in 2013, the casual dining spot is known for its burgers, pizza, wings and other American fare served in a sports bar atmosphere featuring dozens of televisions.

The planned Weslaco location would expand the brand’s presence in South Texas as the Rio Grande Valley continues to attract new restaurant investment along its major retail corridors

The project calls for a 6,686-square-foot restaurant at 626 E. Interstate Highway 2. Construction is scheduled to begin Nov. 13 and be completed by July 12, 2027, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The project carries an estimated construction cost of $1.5 million and is listed as privately funded on private land for private use.

The property owner is listed as Shops AT N Bridge LLC, a San Antonio-based company. The tenant is Texas Roadhouse Holdings LLC, with Monica Jones listed as the company contact.

New York-based GreenbergFarrow is serving as the project’s design firm, while David Deming is listed as the registered accessibility specialist.

The project is currently listed as registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Construction schedules and costs are subject to change.
