Brownsville is looking for residents to help advise city leaders on environmental issues as the city and surrounding area undergo one of the largest waves of industrial development in the region’s history.
The city announced Tuesday that it is accepting applications for its Environmental Task Force, an advisory board intended to provide research, community input and recommendations to the Brownsville City Commission on environmental sustainability, community resilience and development.
The timing comes as Brownsville and Cameron County grapple with the infrastructure and environmental implications of billions of dollars in industrial investment.
