EDINBURG, Texas — Plans for a new Volkswagen auto dealership in Edinburg were filed this month, state records indicate.
The project calls for a 46,659-square-foot, one-story automobile sales facility and service shop with a parts-storage mezzanine at 715 E. Wisconsin Road.
The filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation shows the project is privately funded with an estimated cost of $15 million. The owner is listed as EMP Holdings, L.L.C., with design work by Houston-based firm CDI Douglass-Pye.
The filing notes construction is scheduled to begin February 15, 2026, with completion by February 15, 2027.
The new dealership would add to Payne Auto Group’s existing network of dealerships across the Rio Grande Valley. Payne Auto Group — founded in 1949 — operates multiple franchises throughout the region including in Weslaco, Mission, Brownsville, Harlingen, Rio Grande City and more.
