Nuevo Progreso, Mexico, is kicking off the 2025–2026 Winter Texan season on Saturday with a cross-border welcome festival as communities on both sides of the Rio Grande prepare for the annual influx of visitors who boost retail, lodging, and recreation.

Municipal officials in Río Bravo, Mexico, are working with Nuevo Progreso to greet Winter Texans as they begin settling into the region.

Río Bravo Tourism Director Leticia Garza de Bravo said the event in Nuevo Progreso will begin at 9 a.m. to match the early crossing patterns of visitors.
