The North American Development Bank is making up to $300 million in financing available for environmental projects along the U.S.-Mexico border, opening a new funding opportunity for public agencies and private businesses in the Rio Grande Valley and other border communities.
The San Antonio-based bank, known as NADBank, announced the launch of its Access to Financing Program, which will provide funding through qualified financial institutions rather than lending directly to individual projects, on Wednesday.
The goal is to make financing more accessible for smaller projects that might otherwise struggle to secure long-term funding.
The program will prioritize investments in drinking water, wastewater treatment, water conservation, solid waste management, air quality, energy and energy efficiency.
