A new $10 million apartment complex is planned in Hidalgo, with construction expected to begin next month, according to a recent state filing.

The development, called Texano Apartments, will consist of two three-story residential buildings totaling 80,945 square feet near the intersection of Texano Drive and South 15th Street.

According to a project registration filed Oct. 7 with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the privately funded development will include one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, along with community amenity space incorporated into the buildings.

The filing identifies Texano TXHP LP, an Austin-based entity, as the project owner.
