The Rio Grande Valley Partnership is bringing state transportation leaders to Mission on Tuesday for a discussion about infrastructure in Texas and the Rio Grande Valley.
The organization’s Infrastructure Summit will feature Texas Transportation Commissioner Alex Meade; Brian R. Barth, deputy executive director for program delivery at the Texas Department of Transportation; and Pedro “Pete” Alvarez, TxDOT’s Pharr district engineer.
The discussion comes as transportation infrastructure remains an important consideration for the Valley’s economic growth, particularly for businesses that depend on highways, freight movement and regional connectivity.
The event is scheduled from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the Mission Event Center, 200 N. Shary Road.
