Vanguard Academy is planning an estimated $94 million in school construction projects across Pharr, Alamo and Mission as part of a 10-year expansion strategy, with all three facilities expected to open in 2027.
The projects are part of Vision 2036, a strategic plan developed after the Texas Education Agency renewed the public charter school network’s charter for another 10 years in 2025.
The investment includes a new secondary school at the Van Gogh campus in Pharr, an athletic complex at the Mozart campus in Alamo and a new school at the Monet campus in Mission.
Melisa Morales, Vanguard Academy’s executive director of institutional development and communications, said the projects are intended to address different needs, from classroom shortages and enrollment growth to athletic facilities.
