Another cold storage facility is set to add more than 70,000 square feet of industrial space in Pharr, as demand for temperature-controlled logistics continues to grow across the Rio Grande Valley.
The project, known as Lamar Warehouse, is planned at 9401 S. Lamar and carries an estimated construction cost of $4.2 million, according to state filing documents.

Plans call for a 71,530-square-foot facility that will include cold storage space along with offices and restrooms. Construction was expected to begin Thursday, with completion targeted for November.
The project is privately funded and will be developed on private land for private use, according to the filing.
ROTU Investments LLC is listed as the property owner, with design work led by Dather Design and Development LLC. No tenant has been identified.
The development adds to a growing pipeline of industrial projects in Pharr, particularly tied to logistics and cold chain infrastructure supporting cross-border trade.
