A long-planned TownePlace Suites by Marriott appears to be moving forward in McAllen, with a new state filing outlining a $6.25 million hotel project expected to begin construction early next year.
Ware Hotel Group LP plans to build the new hotel at 317 W. Ware Road, according to a project filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
Construction is scheduled to begin Jan. 20, 2027, and be completed by Dec. 31, 2028, according to the filing. The privately funded project is described simply as new construction of a hotel.
The filing lists the project at 5,000 square feet, although it does not specify whether that figure represents the entire hotel or only a portion of the project. It also does not provide a room count or number of floors.
