Four major industrial projects underway or planned in Cameron County represent more than $41 billion in estimated investment as the region sees continued growth in energy, aerospace and shipbuilding.
Cameron County’s Economic Development Department recently highlighted Rio Grande LNG, SpaceX’s Starbase operations, Texas LNG and Saronic Technologies’ planned Port Alpha shipyard as the four largest economic development projects shaping the county.
Together, the investments total an estimated $41.1 billion, based on figures provided by the county.
The largest is NextDecade Corporation’s Rio Grande LNG project at the Port of Brownsville, which Cameron County lists at an estimated $31.8 billion investment.
