Southwest Airlines is expanding its footprint at Valley International Airport with a new nonstop route to Las Vegas and increased daily service to Austin.

Southwest will begin seasonal nonstop flights between Harlingen and Las Vegas in summer 2027, according to Valley International Airport.

The flights will operate Saturdays from June through August, with the airport indicating additional dates could be added. Tickets for the new service are already on sale.

The Las Vegas route marks several milestones for Southwest’s operations in Harlingen. It will be the airline’s first nonstop flight from Valley International Airport to Las Vegas, its first nonstop from Harlingen to a destination outside Texas and its first new route at the airport since 1985, according to the airport.
