Construction is expected to begin soon on a new cold-storage warehouse in Brownsville, state records indicate.
The $6.7 million project includes a 52,970-square-foot cold-storage warehouse with office space at 1450 E. Zaragosa Drive.
At nearly 53,000 square feet, the facility will be roughly the size of a standard H-E-B grocery store, positioning it to support significant produce-handling and logistics operations.
The filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation lists Gabriel Trejo Torres as the project owner and Edinburg-based jmercDesignConsulting LLC as the design firm.
Construction is scheduled to start next week with completion expected by Dec. 7, 2026.
