The city of Brownsville has launched a new website to help residents understand its agreement with SpaceX to fund up to $220 million in water and wastewater infrastructure improvements.
The website, brownsvilletxwatersecurity.com, provides information about Project Quantum, the agreement between the city and SpaceX aimed at expanding Brownsville’s water supply and reducing its dependence on the Rio Grande.
The website includes frequently asked questions and copies of key documents, including the memorandum of understanding, escrow agreement and Brownsville Public Utilities Board’s water strategy.
“We know our residents have questions about Project Quantum, and we want clear, accurate information to be easy to find,” Brownsville Mayor John Cowen Jr. said in a news release Tuesday. “This website gives our community a place to understand the agreement, learn about the water projects and stay informed as work moves forward.”
