The Rio Grande Valley Business Journal announced its website is now available in both English and Spanish, a move aimed at removing language barriers for readers across the four-county border region and Northern Mexico.
Visitors to the site can switch between the two languages using a selector in the top-right corner of every page, allowing them to read business news, resources, and other content in the language of their choice.
The publication said the update makes its coverage more accessible to Spanish-speaking readers in Hidalgo, Cameron, Starr, and Willacy counties — a region where the majority of residents speak Spanish at home.

“A full Spanish-language translation of our website will allow everyone to access our stories and important information for our communities,” Journal founder and CEO Ramiro Garza Jr. said. “We see this as not just an important part of our business journalism, but an overall effort to serve the public on both sides of the Rio Grande.”
The Journal said the translation feature is intended to create a smoother browsing experience, helping readers navigate the site, understand available services and find information more quickly in their preferred language.
Beyond readability, the publication expects the change to expand its reach. Spanish-language content improves discoverability for users searching in Spanish, allowing the site to surface in both English and Spanish search results and opening new opportunities for engagement with bilingual audiences.
The move also strengthens the Journal’s connection to readers who may have previously found English-only content difficult to access, including Spanish-speaking families and community members throughout the Valley and neighboring Mexican border cities.
The publication framed the update as part of a broader commitment to accessibility and customer service, saying that communicating with readers in their preferred language builds trust and positions the Journal to respond to the needs of a diverse and growing audience.
