A Mission manufacturer that has printed labels for businesses ranging from local food producer Chorizo San Manuel to global electronics giant Panasonic is expanding its operations, with plans to grow its workforce by more than 50%.
Tekna Impact, which specializes in printing and producing labels for industrial and commercial customers, is adding a fourth production line at its facility at 1404 Business Park Drive in Mission, the city’s economic development arm said in a news release Wednesday.
The expansion follows the company’s acquisition of production equipment from Whitlam Group’s former Harlingen operation, including a six-color flexographic printing press and equipment used to finish and inspect printed labels.
Once the new equipment is fully operational, Tekna Impact will have four production lines and six finishing stations, allowing the company to handle larger orders and improve turnaround times.
