Greater State Bank brings live teller ATMs to new Edinburg branch

Greater State Bank’s latest Rio Grande Valley location in Edinburg has launched its innovative new automatic teller machine (ATM) for customer convenience.

The product is branded as GreaterLIVE, and it uses Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs) rather than traditional ATMs.

An ITM looks a great deal like an ATM but acts more like an in-person banking visit.

The customer drives up and is immediately connected to a real, live Greater State Bank teller via a secure video link.

Driving up to the ITM, the banking customer can do cash withdrawals, make deposits, transfer funds, make loan payments, get account help, and have questions answered without having to leave their vehicle and enter the branch.

“With GREATER Live, there are no more canisters and tubes in the motor bank,” said Greater State Bank’s President & CEO Robert McGurk. “You can quickly withdraw cash or make a deposit at one of our machines, and if you’d like to speak with a teller, all it takes is the push of a button. From cashing checks to making loan payments, you can complete virtually any transaction through our ITMs—faster and more conveniently than ever. We believe this will significantly reduce transaction times and greatly enhance your overall experience.”

Greater State Bank is promoting the fact that the teller seen on screen is not in another state or behind an 800 number. GreaterLIVE enables banking customers to speak with the bank’s team members, who are based in South Texas.

All Greater State Bank branches are equipped with the GreaterLIVE technology, which presents a hybrid of the digital and the personal.

The newest location was unveiled today at a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Edinburg for the bank’s grand opening at 2107 S. McColl Road.

GreaterLIVE is designed for everyday transactions, and for more complex needs, branch teams are available.

The technology was designed to enhance how customers bank using the ITM-based video teller service, which is an evolution of the traditional ATM.
