Natural Grocers, a Colorado-based organic grocery chain, is preparing to open a second Rio Grande Valley location in McAllen.

The company confirmed the planned store to the Rio Grande Valley Business Journal, but declined to provide additional details.
The new store is expected to open near TruFit Athletic Clubs, in the 900 block of South 10th Street in McAllen.
The store marks the company’s rapid expansion in a market it only recently entered.
“We opened our Brownsville location in January of 2025 and have proudly been serving the citizens of that lovely city and its surrounding communities since,” the company said in a statement to the Journal.

Natural Grocers, headquartered in Lakewood, Colorado, was founded in 1955 and operates more than 160 stores in 21 states.
The chain focuses on organic groceries, vitamins, supplements, and natural body-care products, with stores offering USDA-certified organic produce, pasture-raised meats and eggs, and nutrition education led by in-store health coaches.
