VALLE HERMOSO, Tamaulipas — Grupo Comercial Chedraui is moving forward with plans for a new store in Valle Hermoso that could generate more than 370 direct and indirect jobs when the project is established in 2027, according to Mayor Alberto Enrique Alanís Villarreal.
The project would bring the national retailer to the border municipality near Matamoros, where Alanís Villarreal said the city has been working with the property owner and Chedraui representatives to advance the development.
“It would be something very important for Valle Hermoso, something that could benefit us,” the mayor said.
Alanís Villarreal said the project is “already a fact” and estimated it would create 120 direct jobs and more than 250 indirect jobs.
